Urban Mountain Voices (UMV) is a FREE after-school program serving Monroe, County PA. We provide uncensored, safe space where young adults ages 13- 19 can express themselves freely through creative writing and spoken word poetry performance. We meet every Friday, 4:30 - 6:30pm on the ESU Campus in East Stroudsburg. All are welcome!

UMV is a project of the Pocono Community Theater and a partner with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Writing Project at East Stroudsburg University
UMV plans to take a SLAM TEAM to the annual BRAVE NEW VOICES youth poetry competition in 2011. We need local schools on board to help make this dream a reality.
